Privacy
Binary Moon collects nothing about you. There is no analytics, no telemetry, no tracking, no network requests. Everything the app does happens on your device.
What we don't do
Binary Moon makes no network connections. It has no analytics SDK, no crash reporting service, no advertising identifier, no third-party telemetry. The app cannot phone home because it has no home to phone.
We do not collect your name, your email, your location, your IP address, your device identifier, or any other identifier that could be used to recognise you across sessions or services. We have no account system, no login, no profile, no "personalised experience."
The microphone
Binary Moon asks for microphone permission only when you enable external input from the Routing view. If you never tap that toggle, the app never accesses the microphone.
When you do enable external input, the microphone signal is processed in real time inside the app's audio engine and routed wherever you direct it (Kage's looper, Nami's spatial channel, or the master output). The audio is not recorded to disk by Binary Moon, not transmitted off the device, and not retained after you disable external input. If you capture audio into Kage's loop buffer, that loop is held in memory only while the app is running and is discarded when the app closes.
MIDI input
Connected MIDI keyboards and controllers send note and controller messages to Binary Moon's synth engine. These messages trigger sound and are not stored or transmitted.
Scenes you save
Scenes you save inside the app are written to your device's local app storage. They contain the patch settings, modulation routings, pad grid, and effect parameters you configured — nothing about you personally. These files never leave your device unless you explicitly copy them out yourself (for example via the Files app or iTunes file sharing).
We have no copy of your scenes. We cannot restore them if you uninstall the app or lose your device.
The App Store
When you purchase Binary Moon, that transaction is handled entirely by Apple's App Store. Apple's privacy policy governs that exchange — see apple.com/legal/privacy. We receive aggregated, anonymised sales counts from Apple. We never see your name, email, payment details, or device identity.
Changes to this policy
If Binary Moon ever starts collecting any data — for example if a future version adds optional iCloud sync of your scenes — this page will be updated before that change ships, and the app's release notes will mention it. As of this writing, no such change is planned.
